Simelia’s Extra Virgin Olive Oil is hand-harvested from our own olive orchid. Around 550 olive trees were planted on dryland circa 1978. The trees were hand-grafted from ancient wild olive trees’ rootstock from Woestkloof farm itself. This ensured that the trees were semi-indigenous and already perfectly acclimatised to the natural mountainous area.

There is no irrigation, no additional products such as fertilizers or pesticides used in this orchard. Our olive oil is 100% organic. Manual weed removal and covering the trees with our own thatch from the Southern Cape keep the trees free from any competition and the thatch keeps the moisture locked in the soil.

Our cold-pressed olive oil makes a great addition to salad dressings. Create your own bruschetta, use if for nearly any sort of food in your kitchen such as grilled fish, roasted meats or vegetables. Be creative and use it is as you wish.
